US continues to block UN arms inspectors
Amidst
reports that US and UK governmental and intelligence agencies are freaking out over the failure to find any WMDs in Iraq so far,
the US continues to block UN arms inspectors from returning to the country. Certification by inspectors that Iraq is free of WMDs is one of the main conditions for the lifting of the sanctions - sanctions which the US and UK insisted on keeping in place before the war but are now insisting be removed, regardless of WMD-free status.
